NBC Parent Assistant Job Description
Part time: 5-10 hours/week, may vary
Compensation: $10-15/hour depending on experience
NBC Parent Assistant responsibilities will include:
Make phone calls to parents and community members to spread news about NBC and to alert NBC members about meetings.
Coordinate translation, food, child care for NBC meetings.
Record minutes of NBC meetings.
Attend school board meetings 2nd and 4th Tuesdays to speak on behalf of NBC.
Write up school board minutes about any mention of the New Bessie Carmichael.
Additional responsibilities may be added depending on experience of applicant.
Desire to strengthen the multicultural character of the SOMA community.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work well in a cross-cultural environment.
Availability during evening hours for NBC meetings.
Fluent written and spoken English.
Bilingual speaker of Tagalog, Spanish, Chinese, Vietnamese, or Gujrati.
Experience in community organizing setting.
